Chapter 5
 GARDEN OF EDEN
LONGEVITY DIET:
AN OVERLOOK
· WHY IS THIS CALLED THE
GARDEN OF EDEN LONGEVITY DIET?

The FUNGALBIONIC concept incriminates stored and fermented foods and beverages as the carriers of the toxic fungi and their mycotoxins. Fresh food, not manipulated by humans, is what has the least amount of fungi/mycotoxins and offers the greatest amount of antifungal/antimycotoxin protection.

In one’s fantasy image of a place where fresh food is always abundant, and toxic fungi with their mycotoxins are rarely seen (except on moldy apples), only the mythical Garden of Eden qualifies for first place. At the very least, it was the first place where an old written scroll states that a human ate the first meal under the watchful eyes of a benevolent creator.

· GARDEN OF EDEN LONGEVITY DIET
IS BASED ENTIRELY UPON DIETARY FACTS,
NOT UPON UNPROVEN DIETARY THEORIES

The GARDEN OF EDEN LONGEVITY DIET is constituted of food recipes which each carry the following unique and far reaching message:

THIS RECIPE IS ANTIFUNGAL/ANTIMYCOTOXIN.
IT IS ANTI-CANCER, ANTI-ATHEROSCLEROSIS,
ANTI-DEGENERATIVE DISEASES & PROHEALTH.

This message is based upon extensive documentation as presented in this book and the other volumes of the FUNGALBIONIC series. (See References.)

This message is not based on theories such as oxidative stress requiring antioxidants, saturated fat being harmful versus unsaturated fat being healthy, genetic inheritance of cancer and degenerative diseases, necessity of megadoses of vitamins, cave man diet and cave man mentality, stress, depression, lack of exercise, electromagnetic fields, etc.

Such theories fall short of their intended goal in that they all lack knowledge of the underlying true cause of the degenerative and cancerous diseases!

The singularly important fact of science, that when cause is unknown, any and all etiologic statements are only postulative, mandates that all of the major "healthy" diets must be scrutinized with a healthy degree of suspicion, particularly since there is no previously known cause of the degenerative and cancerous diseases, and these diseases remain the leading causes of disability and death in the very countries where these diets have originated!

Several of these mainstream diets are reviewed below. This brief review will not be at all flattering to those who have been promoting these diets. However, and hopefully, this review will serve to increase the dedicated interest of the prohealth dietary reformists. Of course, it sets the stage for a more rapid general acceptance of the need to return to a Garden Of Eden-type natural setting for food selection, consumption, and enjoyment.

· THE FAILURE OF THE "AMERICAN PRUDENT DIET"

The "American Prudent Diet" has not resulted in the health benefits predicted for its use. It is being replaced with a recommendation to follow the Mediterranean Diet.

 · RISK OF THE "AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION DIET"

The "American Heart Association Diet" is similar to the American Prudent Diet. It is a diet low in saturated fat. This diet has also been recommended by the U.S. National Cancer Institute as a means of preventing cancer.

Unfortunately, it has recently been found that when children are placed on this diet, they are nutritionally damaged with "stunted growth". Pediatricians have advised that a fat-restrictive diet not be given to children since it is injurious to them.

It is impossible to understand how a diet which is harmful to children is healthy for adults. The American Heart Association and the National Cancer Institute should convene a joint meeting before the public to explain this paradox. They should also invite the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to explain why the constituents of their pyramid diet have caused what has happened to the Pima Indian.

The Pimas have been given large amounts of U.S. foods for decades. The Pimas have developed a very high incidence of degenerative diseases which researchers have attributed to genetics. The problem with that is that the members of a sister tribe of Pimas living in Mexico, eating their traditional diet, enjoy good health. It has also been documented that the diet of the Pimas is not very different than that consumed by other Americans. Of course, the diseases seen in the U.S. group of Pima Indians are identical to the diseases seen throughout the U.S.A.

Obviously, the poor health of the Pimas, and other Americans, is not genetic. It is caused by the food!

The poor health of the Pimas and other Americans
is being caused by America’s "Gold Standard Diet",
the USDA Food Guide Pyramid Diet....

 · RISK OF THE "USDA FOOD GUIDE PYRAMID DIET"

The "USDA Food Guide Pyramid Diet" was actually created to assure maximal consumption of U.S. crops:

"Consumers should look to the bounty of American agriculture, seen in grocery stores and markets across the country, for planning nutritious, economical and good tasting meals"
Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman
The USDA Food Guide Pyramid Diet recommends: 6-11 helpings of (yeast) bread, cereals and pasta each day; 3-5 servings of vegetables a day; 2-4 helping of fruit a day; 2-3 servings of milk, cheese, yogurt a day; 2-3 servings of meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs and nuts (particularly including peanuts) a day; and a small amount of fats, oils and sweets daily. A moderate amount of alcohol, including beer and wine, is also permitted.

The underlined foods are documented to be potentially the most fungal/mycotoxin-contaminated. They are documented to be the cause of cancer, atherosclerosis and other diseases.

The USDA Pyramid is also not a very healthy diet judging from the extensive medical literature which incriminates the "Western Diet" (American Diet) as the cause of the major diseases.

The USDA Pyramid diet will most likely go down in history as a modern day replica of the original Egyptian Pyramid, a stone structure used to bury the dead.

· THE GARDEN OF EDEN LONGEVITY DIET IS A MEDLEY OF HEALTHY FOODS AS FOUND IN MEDITERRANEAN, ORIENTAL & OTHER BASIC FOOD NATURAL DIETS

GARDEN OF EDEN LONGEVITY DIET is constituted of a mixture of the documented healthy traditional diets, particularly the Mediterranean and Oriental Diets. Such diets include large amounts of mostly fresh foods such as fish, fresh vegetables (a little fruit), soy bean products, olive oil, rice and pasta. There is a minimal amount of the fungal/mycotoxin-contaminated meats, meat products, stored/processed and fermented foods, sugar, corn, etc.

Alcohol, beer, wine and tobacco should be consumed only by those who produce them and recommend their use. And, of course, there was no alcohol, beer, wine or tobacco
added to the nutrition provided in the GARDEN OF EDEN.
